Overview

Daniel M. Moore maintains a diverse litigation practice focusing largely on appeals, white collar criminal defense, and government investigations. He routinely advises clients on appellate practice and procedure, drafts principal and amicus briefs, and engages in certiorari-stage practice in state and federal courts both in Maryland and across the country. Daniel has white collar experience defending cases that involve various types of fraud and allegations arising under the False Claims Act and the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. He is a member of a team of Saul Ewing attorneys that acts as counsel to the independent monitor, appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, to monitor oversight of the pharmaceutical company Mallinckrodt’s controlled substance compliance program. Daniel also handles an array of trial-level criminal and civil matters in state and federal courts, including complex commercial, antitrust, and corporate matters.

Before joining Saul Ewing, Daniel served three terms as a judicial law clerk, twice for the Honorable Joseph M. Getty of the Court of Appeals of Maryland and once for the Honorable J. Mark Coulson of the U.S. District Court for the District of  Maryland.  While earning his J.D. at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Daniel worked as a student attorney in the law school's Consumer Bankruptcy Clinic, where he drafted Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions, represented debtors at reaffirmation hearings before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland, and assisted clients in 11 U.S.C. § 341 meetings of creditors.
