Doug Sampson advocates for clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters. His experience includes disputes involving construction contracts, higher education institutions, real estate and land use, commercial leases and contracts, and telecommunications. These matters range from large complex litigation involving teams of lawyers to smaller disputes between business entities or individuals.
Doug’s previous experience as a television journalist covering local politics, legal matters and other current events shapes his approach to client service. This work taught him how to be imbedded in the community and to make complex issues easy to understand.
In addition to providing day-to-day advice and counsel to construction clients and institutions of higher education, Doug assists clients in navigating complex commercial disputes through litigation, mediation, appeals, and strategic responses.

Doug has successfully handled land use and zoning projects in dozens of jurisdictions in Maryland and Virginia. Clients from the telecommunications industry, particularly wireless carriers and tower companies, rely on Doug’s knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and his deep experience in the industry when pursuing their infrastructure development objectives.
