Overview

Emily Bernhard is a member of the Litigation Department in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She maintains a general litigation practice and handles a variety of matters involving complex commercial disputes and insurance matters.

Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Emily served as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert A. Salerno in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. While earning her J.D. at The George Washington University School of Law, she was a judicial intern in the same court for the Honorable Deborah J. Israel. Emily also was a law clerk in the U.S. Office of Special Counsel’s Retaliation and Disclosure Unit in Washington, D.C.

As an undergraduate student, Emily was a law clerk in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division in Washington, D.C. Emily also served as a legislative assistant and political consultant for Virginia State Senator Dave Marsden, a legislative and policy intern for U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and a fellow for U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin.
