Ian McLin is a commercial litigator with a focus on insurance coverage and complex business disputes. Ian represents insurers in a wide spectrum of coverage-related disputes, including those concerning general liability, pollution liability, professional liability, cyber, kidnap and ransom, educators’ legal liability, product recall, and business interruption coverages. Ian’s coverage practice includes representing risk retention groups, environmental liability insurers, and other specialty carriers, including in multi-district litigation matters.
In addition to his insurance coverage practice, Ian represents clients in a variety of business torts and contract disputes across industries. He has experience handling complex commercial litigation, from pre-dispute resolution through trial, in both federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums. Ian also has substantial experience in the Eastern District of Virginia’s “rocket docket” and in circuit courts across the Commonwealth.
