Krystina Garda represents employers in a wide range of workplace disputes, including matters involving claims for harassment, employment discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wage-and-hour violations. She also has experience with claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing the workplace.
Krystina also provides guidance to employers from an array of industries on various aspects of the employment relationship, including interviewing, hiring, employee discipline, termination, human resources management and training. Such guidance includes, but is not limited to, the creation and negotiation of non-disclosure agreements, arbitration agreements, employment contracts, offer letters, and severance agreements, as well as the preparation of employee handbooks and other human resources policies.
While earning her Juris Doctor, Krystina was a Labor Bureau legal intern at the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where she provided support on litigation matters involving New York wage-and-hour laws. In addition, during law school, Krystina provided pro bono assistance to pro se litigants with employment cases before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York through the New York Legal Assistance Group’s S.D.N.Y. Pro Se Legal Clinic.
