Overview

Levi Schy focuses his practice on matters involving colleges and universities and K-12 schools, representing educational institutions in litigation, conducting internal fact-finding investigations, and responding to U.S. Department of Education investigations and complaints.

Levi advises educational institutions on issues related to Title IX, Title VI, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other civil rights and discrimination statutes. He also assists schools with drafting and revising handbooks and institutional policies on issues ranging from Title IX and sexual harassment to program and department operations.

Levi has broad experience tackling various phases of litigation, from drafting initial pleadings, motions, and briefs, to handling depositions. He is also adept at managing large-scale e-discovery projects for complex commercial litigation. Levi has notable experience defending institutions of higher education in class action lawsuits.

While earning his J.D. at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Levi was a John Marshall Summer Law Clerk at Franklin & Marshall College, where he worked in the general counsel's office conducting research on a broad range of legal issues affecting the higher education industry, including Title IX, the Clery Act, tenure, real estate and international regulations. As a third-year law student, Levi interned in the University of Pennsylvania’s Athletic Compliance Office helping to ensure compliance with the principles and standards of the Ivy League and the NCAA. Prior to his legal career, Levi worked as an undergraduate admissions officer for Drexel University and a college advisor for the National College Advising Corps. He leverages his prior experience as a higher education professional to provide practical legal advice and help educational institutions advance their mission.
