Overview

Mai Tong Yang is a member of the Transactional Department in the firm's Minneapolis office. She maintains a general corporate practice and assists with a variety of deals. Her skill set includes: reviewing contracts; drafting a wide array of forms, agreements and bylaws; and handling filings for compliance with the Corporate Transparency, the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Initial Notice requirements. She also assists with mergers and acquisitions and securities matters.

While earning her J.D. at University of St. Thomas School of Law, Mai Tong was a law clerk for the League of Minnesota Cities. Her role there included analysis of federal and state court decisions related to municipal law and research on employment law issues. Mai Tong was also a summer law clerk for a law firm, where she completed an in-house rotation with a multinational conglomerate that manufactures and sells industrial, safety, and consumer products. Her in-house role included work related to intellectual property and trademark issues, entity formation, restrictive covenants and other corporate matters.

Before law school, Mai Tong was a constituent services representative and staff assistant to the Office of U.S. Senator Tina Smith. She was also a teaching assistant in South Korea through the Fulbright Program.
