As a member of the firm's Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice, Nicholas Smargiassi assists debtors, trustees, creditors' committees and other parties throughout the bankruptcy and restructuring process.
While earning his J.D. at St. John's University School of Law, Nicholas was a summer associate at Saul Ewing. He also was a judicial intern for the Honorable Keith J. Cornell in Rockland County Surrogate's Court in New City, New York. His student note, Insider Leases in Bankruptcy: The Spanish Peaks Problem, was published in the Summer 2023 edition of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review. Prior to law school, Nicholas was a mortgage insurance risk assistant for a private mortgage insurer.
