Overview

Stacey Herter represents clients in contested trust, estate and probate litigation matters. Her work includes representations of both beneficiaries and fiduciaries, including administrators, executors and trustees.

Stacey brings more than two decades of experience as a litigator to her work. Before she began focusing on trusts and estates cases, she handled commercial litigation for major corporate clients as a member of an international law firm. This included defense of financial services companies in complex litigation ranging from loan enforcement claims and lender liability cases to contract claims and tort defense. She also advised and defended clients in claims involving federal lending laws and regulations, as well as state consumer protection and unfair competition claims.

With the understanding that trust, estate and probate litigation often raises complex emotional and financial issues for clients, Stacey explores alternatives to taking cases into the courtroom, including mediation and handling cases in ADR forums such as JAMS and FINRA. When a dispute cannot be resolved, she draws on her record of successfully litigating matters from the pleading stage through trial in state and federal courts throughout Southern California to reach a resolution.
