Tom Spain assists clients with complex insurance coverage disputes, particularly those arising under professional liability policies and directors and officers (D&O) liability policies. Tom represents major insurers and other commercial clients in a range of matters that include claims for professional liability, employment liability, representations and warranties disputes, reinsurance disputes and Covid-19-related issues.
Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Tom worked as an associate at an international law firm. During law school, Tom interned for Chief Administrative Judge Michael Yavinsky at the Kings County Criminal Court.
Before Tom entered legal practice, he worked for an insurance broker where he helped to develop and manage strategic risk management solutions for law firm and consulting firm clients. The unique perspective he brings from this industry experience has proven valuable.
