Dennis Ostrovsky helps innovators, universities, and life sciences companies build, defend, and enforce patent portfolios across a broad range of technologies. He counsels clients from the earliest stages of invention through prosecution, portfolio strategy, and patent litigation, drawing on a doctorate in organic chemistry and prior experience as a principal scientist at a global pharmaceutical company.
Dennis drafts and manages the prosecution of patent applications in the United States and abroad, including in Europe, China, Korea, and Japan. He also drafts appeal briefs and performs due diligence on inventorship disputes. He has represented patent owners in high-stakes infringement litigation – most recently as part of the trial team in Lindis Biotech, GmbH v. Amgen Inc., a bispecific-antibody patent dispute in the District of Delaware, now on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
His combined industry and legal experience positions him to advise on FDA regulatory matters, intellectual property acquisition and licensing, and commercialization strategy. As a principal scientist, Dennis led molecular modeling efforts to support the discovery of small-molecule drugs for metabolic disorders, including cancer and diabetes, and he is well versed in the challenges of drug discovery and development, including pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and ADME properties.
