Overview

A seasoned real estate lawyer with over 40 years of experience, Fred Strober is a trusted counselor to many of the region's leaders, particularly in the non-profit sector. Fred has been lead counsel on numerous transformational projects, including the revitalization of the former Philadelphia Shipyard and the construction of several major hospitals and the administrative headquarters of the School District of Philadelphia. His work on these projects often spans years, as he assists governing boards and senior management in shaping their vision and then leads the legal team that makes it a reality. He continues to be hands on, often drafting and negotiating the project's design and construction contracts.

A school administrator prior to becoming a lawyer, Fred brings an executive's perspective to his work. He has served as Saul Ewing's executive partner and Philadelphia Office Managing Partner and as president of three organizations: Congregation Rodeph Shalom (Philadelphia's largest synagogue); American Jewish Committee; and Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. He continues to serve on several non-profit boards and devotes a substantial amount of time to pro bono activities.

Fred's ability to navigate the complex issue his clients face in making real estate and construction deals is validated in the many legal industry accolades he has received, including his membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and his inclusion as one of "America's Leading Lawyers in Real Estate" in Chambers USA for 15 consecutive years, most recently with a Band 1 ranking in Pennsylvania. In 2022, Fred was honored with the Judge Learned Hand Award for lawyering excellence and community service.
