Irfan Malani litigates intellectual property disputes, including matters involving patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. His experience includes cases covering a wide array of technologies and industries, from telecommunications and medical devices to cybersecurity. In addition to representing clients in federal district courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas with its active docket of patent litigation matters, Irfan litigates before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board and other agencies. Irfan also helps clients enforce and defend their IP rights through pre-litigation efforts, including drafting cease and desist letters.
Beyond his representations in the courtroom, Irfan collaborates with clients to assess and protect their IP portfolios, including work for global manufacturers in consumer electronics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. This work includes patent preparation and prosecution, product clearances, and responses to office actions from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
