Jeff Ramirez advises high net worth individuals and families, as well as entrepreneurs and businesses, on the legal aspects of estate planning and the implementation of strategies to preserve wealth and minimize taxation. Jeff also represents clients in administering estates and trusts and developing creative strategies in probate and trust disputes. Jeff also has extensive experience advising clients on guardianship matters for disabled adults and minors.

Jeff’s work as a trusts and estates attorney is shaped by his previous role in the Family Wealth Management Group at a global investment bank, where he worked with relationship managers and estate planners to implement investment portfolios and structure estate plans aligned with the financial goals of high net worth clients while minimizing tax consequences.

His estate planning experience includes drafting a wide range of estate planning documents, such as pour-over wills, revocable trusts, and powers of attorney for property and health care, for individuals and families. On the estate and trust administration side of his practice, Jeff assists clients with opening probate estates to marshal assets and enforce estate planning documents. He also advises clients on their roles and responsibilities in estate/trust administration, performs estate valuation analysis, provides accounting reports, develops tax strategies, and prepares fiduciary and individual income tax returns.

When an estate is contested, Jeff represents clients in cases involving proof of will contests, breach of fiduciary claims, demands for accounting, and citations to discover and recover assets. He represents fiduciaries or beneficiaries in these disputes, with a focus on helping them to find out their rights. 

Jeff is also experienced at assisting clients with guardianship estates, including counseling on ways to mitigate and avoid guardianship, if possible. He also advises guardians of their fiduciary roles and responsibilities.
