  • Represented a developer in the acquisition and financing of a 440-acre parcel that the client is developing into a world class industrial park.
  • Assisted a client in the acquisition and financing of a vacant building that the client redeveloped into a successful brewery and community gathering space.

     

Higher Education

  • Represented a higher education institution in New England in the negotiation of pre-development and development agreements for a student housing building and a student success center.
  • Represented a university client in the ground leasing of unused buildings for their redevelopment as a hotel.
  • Represented the development manager in development agreement negotiations, construction contract negotiations, and other agreements relating to a student housing project in Maryland.

     

Construction Contracts

  • Represented the owner in the negotiation of multiple construction contracts for over $50 million of work in connection with a multi-phase mixed use development in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
  • Assisted a Fortune 500 company in the development and negotiation of numerous construction contracts and design build agreements, including company form document.
  • Represented a significant DC area-based construction company in the negotiation of construction contracts for multi-family projects and a student housing project.

     

Leases

  • Represented Becton, Dickinson and Company, a Fortune 500 company, in dozens of lease negotiations over the course of nearly 20 years, including the negotiation of a 719,000 square foot built to suit lease and other significant warehouse/industrial and office leases.
  • Represented office, industrial and retail landlords in numerous leasing matters.
