Select representations include:

  • Patentee in inter partes review proceedings filed by a technology company. Obtained appellate reversal of adverse Patent Trial and Appeal Board decisions covering three patents and received a summary affirmance of a favorable decision covering a fourth patent.
  • Plaintiff in a patent litigation that settled on the eve of trial after we struck all of the defendant’s prior art invalidity defenses.  
  • Plaintiff in a dispute against his former business partners over ownership of a restaurant chain and associated intellectual property. Obtained a preliminary injunction resulting in a settlement confirming the client's sole ownership of the business and all intellectual property, including trademarks and copyrights.
  • Appellant before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in a case involving questions of claim construction and infringement under the doctrine of equivalents and trademark use in commerce. The appeal resulted in a remand to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. 
  • Defendant in a patent dispute involving smartphone features. All claims were dismissed in the case. 
  • Respondent in a Section 337 patent infringement action that concluded with a favorable ruling under the ITC’s pilot program for early determination. 
  • Defendant in a patent dispute involving mobile banking technology. The case concluded with a summary judgment of noninfringement at the district court, which was upheld by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
